We are having major issues with post delivery.

Having been at the new address for almost 3 months, we have only received junk mail and mail for the previous occupant. Apart from previous occupants mail and junk mail, we are not receiving any personal mail at all including important NHS appointment letters.

We completed an online customer service enquiry with Royal Mail but did not receive any response.

We then submitted an online complaint form expressing our concern for non receipt of mail. We received a case reference number followed by an email stating that that the case has been resolved!!

Is there anything we can do to take this further like an ombudsman?

Post yourselves a 'test' letter and see if it arrives / how long it takes.

Go to the local sorting office and have a 'chat' to the posties.

Chat to the local postie on your round and see if there any issues.

Daft I know but are you sure you have given out your correct new address inc post code with out any errors?

  • Royal Mail's central customer service is terrible, go to the delivery office and speak to them is best :)

I vote talk to the postie first.

Are you absolutely sure you are using the same address as the stuff that does get delivered? No mistake in postcode?

If they are coming to your house with your 'door to door' items. and letters for the previous occupant then there must be an issue with your not being addressed correctly. I would go to the delivery office and ask it if they are holding any undelivered mail for your address but acct promptly as they dont hold it for long before they send it away,

Did you pay for the mail re-direction service? This wasn't mentioned in your original post.

When you say 'junk mail' do you mean unaddressed mail? Have you received anything with your name on at all?
It might be worth posting two letters to yourself, one addressed to you and the other to a fake name, and see if either gets delivered.
