No Response From Holiday Company

A week ago I booked a holiday with a relatively well known villa holiday company who for the moment shall remain nameless. I paid a deposit of nearly £200 with my credit card. I have so far not received any confirmation of my payment or booking either by email or in any other form. Neither am I able to log in to or create an account as I should be able to as a customer. I have on  numerous occasions attempted to contact the company by phone to no avail the phone is never answered no matter how long it rings for. I have tried contacting them via online chat (which I suspect is a 'bot') but the chat is never answered. I have submitted an online query form for a call back and given the best time to be contacted along with my booking reference and all contact details, no call has been received. If I hadn't had the forethought to screen shot my booking, I would have absolutely no evidence I had made this booking as I have still not received any confirmation.

My question is what do I do next? Can I cancel the holiday and ask for my deposit back (preferred option as I now have no faith in this company) but how if I cannot get them to respond? Or would I be better contacting my credit card company and ask for their assistance?

    Which company is it?  It's fine to name them here.  Doing so means that we can look at their terms and conditions, which may help answer your question.
