Morning all, it was dull but now it's sunny...I'd like the dull back please with some rain if possible, what rain there was yesterday amounted ot maybe a bucketful. On the plus side I did manage to give away some plants that may have died under my ministrations but now have a better chance at life. Also there is a new leaf appearing on the cheese plant, it's what was left of my mothers, an offshoot, that has never had more than four leaves so I must be doing something right at last! It's been struggling for years, but now it has six leaves and one on the way. It's starting to look like a real one now
Plans for today, maybe allotment, to try and soak a bit of ground to put some leeks in and some of my garden. Got some beef out for yeaterdays dinner, was odd without roasties and yorkies but low carb needs must, so pleant of other veg instead. And obviously more left for today.
Ruby, that's just soawful, poor bloke, imagine having a nice time in your life for the very first time and then everything being snatched away again. If there's anything I can do to help, I'm in. And well done you for making a fuss and trying to advocate for him. TA, well done to your tribe, and have a lovely time away! Allie, I'm expecting your still on your travels, hope they're being fun. Izzy, have a lovely day, are you feeling better for retirement now? And well done for resisting fresh bread! Coxy, fingers crossed you can make some improvements. remmie, nice to hear she's home early, there's nothing like being home otmake you feel better in yourself. Gers, hope you've got some weather that doesn't include rain! Take care all and shout to the missing/not posting..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's start. We had some "useful" rain yesterday, with prolonged bouts of steady rain for most of the morning, then some brightness in the afternoon followed by more rain late evening and overnight. Much better for the gardens than one short heavy downpour that just runs off parched ground. This morning we've had a cloudy start but it's brightening up now; sunny intervals set for the remainder of the day with more showers possible later in the evening.
Yesterday turned out to be the Slothful Sunday I was expecting but it's back to normal today with the usual daily tasks plus making a tub of potato salad and soup. I have a few phone calls to make this week but not today; I find Monday is a bad day for that. At some stage I'll pop over to the print/stationery shop for scans and photocopies of documents that I need, along with a black biro for filling in other forms. I have plenty of blue pens but not a single black one to be found!
@remmie - Good to hear your NDN is back home earlier than expected and that she's making good progress.
@Coxy - I hope your potential meeting with Boss goes well.
@TA - Fingers crossed for a better week at the van - I think you'll be safe with the weather!
@TTB - Lovely photos.
@dp1 - Good to hear LO is still doing well. Are there any trees near to the main drain, I wonder? If so, it could be their roots causing the problem. We sometimes have that happen and it's a case of cutting the roots down. I'm not sure which came first - the tree or the houses; either way, it's not ideal but I'd miss the tree if it were to be removed.
Right, time to get on with the day. Best wishes to all for a good week, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all from frustrated Mehefinland
Been a weird weekend. Saturday spent a fair chunk in the council offices trying to sort the mayhem, and dispose of some old tables. Yes please can we have them , turned in to can we have a look and get back to you ( today), which turned into ( at 9.30pm after chasing), oh they are not suitable.GRRRR A whole day wasted when the blasted things could have been out of the building and gone. On the plus side have been contacted by a lady from a mosque in Barry who may want some. Waiting to hear on that one. They are not massive tables, but heavy and no longer needed. I would hate them to go to the skip, but its looking increasingly likely.
Yesterday would have been or 45th so it was a strange one. Went to a beach litter pick in the morning and collectively ( about 40 turned up!) cleared an awful lot of stuff from the foreshore. We do an hour, and it's long enough on a pebble beach!
Then in the late afternoon went to a choral concert with a friend Hele ,with the view of checking them out and potentially joining in the autumn. The music choice was not particularly to my taste but I think I may give it a go. Hele decided it was not for her-a bit too highbrow!! Will admit the Vaughn-Williams pieces they did left me cold - a Marmite work,but most of the rest was ok. Like most choirs, there are a few 'passengers'. The overall sound was passable and they were very welcoming and friendly after it ended. I do feel as if I have been manipulated a little by the well meaning Hele -I'm convinced she had no real intention of joining .
Physio later for Showman so that will keep me out of mischief.
Hugs and spoons as always

@mehefin maybe you were manipulated, but it sounds like the choral group might be a good fit for you! How are the horses?
@RedRuby1231 don't let your mum take advantage of you! I did my mum's cleaning for about 18m before she died, but she always saved the jobs she didn't like for me (cleaning the kitchen floor & vaccing the stairs!) 🙄😂2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
