lcd monitor - inverter replacement, generic?

I've inherited a 17 inch TFT LCD monitor, but I suspect the invertor has failed...
My diagnosis is based on the following:
-With my computer and lcd on and the vga cable plugged in, a v. faint image can be made out on the LCD when a light is shone on it - backlights would normally illuminate this image but for some reason they are not lighting up. This would suggest faulty backlights or faulty backlight voltage inverter.
-Since there are four backlights in the monitor, I find it very unlikely that they'd all fail at once, so I guess it's the inverter circuit board.
LCD model: Cornea MP704
invertor circuit board part number: DS-1007WF
My questions are as follows:
-Since this is a lesser known brand of LCD and the part in question seems hard to find for a decent price, would a generic four-bulb lcd inverter work, (assuming it physically fits in the case!) - Do the cold cathode bulbs in all LCDs have similar power requirements? (My guess is they'd have identical requirements.) Any experience of generic inverters? Anyone done this repair before?
-Where can LCD inverters be found cheaply? Ideally an original part, but realistically, a suitable replacement, hopefully UK based?
Any advice and experience is greatly appreciated.

Does the existing invertor board have a barcode label and, if so, does the code under it start with DS-1007WF? If not, what does the code start with?
I have a list of at least 100 invertor boards here, and DS-1007WF is not in it.
I guess it's possible that a "generic" invertor would work, though it's also quite possible it would not match the spec of the lamps and either fail to light them or overheat or go pop... Plus, I've never seen an invertor board which is sold as "generic", but confess I've never looked for that specifically!0 -
I was under the impression that they were NOT generic. although they do the same thing, the strike and running voltages of the tube differ and so I think does the supply voltage.GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0

There is no other codes, and no barcodes on the inverter circuit to identify it... just DS-1007WF , and beneath that DS-plus Inc. V1.0 on the upper right of the PCB. See the photo here.
The main screen assembly itself has a label on the back - Hyundai HT17E11-300 - if that's any help.
The company Cornea is a little known manufacturer from Korea, I was given this by a Australian girl, and the PSU had a US plug, so who knows where it's originally from, and I guess original parts are hard to come by. (Don't worry, I checked that the PSU was ok for UK mains voltage.)
The generic inverters I was thinking of would be like those supplied by this company, and specifically perhaps like this one - It's a terrible way to decide, but it physically looks very similar to mine!Russia is HERE0 -
DS-1007WF is manufactured by DS Plus Inc, used in some Gateway monitors
It is the same as the following:
AT-0150XH Inverter made by PIS Corp
FIF1542-06A Inverter made by Frontek

That's great, cheers. At least some more model numbers to google and search on eBay for.Russia is HERE0

I think I'm going to try this piece of kit from hong kong, throug eBay, which describes itself as a "universal inverter." - Nothing to lose really (except a tenner, and my life, perhaps.)
Only thing is the input is a bit different from mine, but I've got a soldering iron.
In the meantime, (I know it's quite specific, but you never know...) if anyone knows any other good UK sources of the above inverters, please let me know... I don't really have $69.99 to spend!
Thanks to all respondents.

wait until fwor gets back on line, he might have one!0

Sorry Chris - I don't recognise either of those reference numbers.
Good luck with £10 one from HK - please let us know how you get on!0
