Morning @Gers and thanks for starting us off.We had rain overnight which is so welcome as the garden is struggling. Now sunny but more rain due this afternoon. We have a new house sign to put up at the gate so that’s this morning job as well as food shopping. Not a lot else planned - DH and DS2 might start lifting the floor in DS2’s room later but that doesn’t involve me thank goodness. They will insulate and possibly decide whether to move the radiator and what’s needed for that.Dinner is still to be decided upon and purchased but possibly roast gammon with roast potatoes as haven’t had that for a while. We also have some courgettes from the community allotment to use up.Have a good day all

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Well, there is a sound outside I haven't heard in a while, its absolutely chucking it down. Heavy rain is an understatement, it'll do the garden so good. Not so big dog though, will have to persuade him to go out.
Dinner today will be a roast, haven't had that in ages. Other than that no other plans, but I believe theres a f1 race, 😀
Ruby, words fail me. I know you'll keep fighting, I just wish there was something we could all do.
Have a good Sunday all, take care.12 -
Morning again - welcome to my rain @Remmie! Today has started dry, after two days of the worst summer weather known here it's a lovely change.Yesterday was rather unexciting, I went out briefly to fuel up the car, the rain stopped anything more interesting. Today I'm off down to Glasgow to spend some time with pals so I'm packed up
almost ready to go. I've got an order to collect on the way and a return to make tomorrow.
Hug to all, I hope that your day is peaceful and free from stress. Now, where's our Nan???12 -
Morning all. Still dry here but cloudy now.
Good day yesterday at a music session in a pub near King's Cross but was so surprised to see all the people at MK train station. Apparently we're one of the closest stations to Silverstone and there was a special bus service running to the circuit.
Anyway, today we are off to JL to check out new curtain track for the patio doors and maybe a new bedside clock for DH. Our friend helped me through setting up some of the things on our new TV on Friday night so might investigate further this afternoon.
Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.13 -

Morning everyone had a lovely morning yesterday there was some lovely food on at the market but I’m trying to be good and nothing was bought but I nearly gave in when someone went into a bakers as we were passing the smell coming out of the door was wonderful I did press my nose up to the window then said no and walked on I nearly went back a couple of times but we got in the car and came home I had scrambled eggs it didn’t hit the spot. It’s overcast here and a lot off plants have blown over so I’m going to have a bit of a tidy I’ve got a little beef joint roasting we will have that later with veg and Yorkshire pudding otherwise not a lot happening. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Gers. Yesterday's rain never arrived and the sun put in an appearance at midday to give us a mild but breezy afternoon. It's dry out at the moment but we're forecast thundery showers with a gentle breeze today, highs of around 19 deg.
Everything went to plan yesterday with all tasks completed without any hiccups, hindrances or annoyances. Well, all apart from yet another shrinkflation item at the shops - tins of tuna steak that were 110g are now 100g. Same price, just less content.Today I'll slice up the cooked gammon joint that should do me a good few meals and also soak some split peas to add to the stock for pea & ham soup. Not that soup looks as if it will be on the menu this week since another mini heatwave is on its way apparently. I foresee freezer juggling in play again!
Other than that, it's going to be a Slothful Sunday to recharge the old batteries ready for the new week.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend whatever you have planned, take care. Thinking of the poorly or sleepless ones, hugs as usual. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning All
It was raining when I got up but looks brighter now, although not bright enough to put washing out. I did hang some out yesterday for an hour when it was sunny and warm, got brought in after an hour as it rained again!
I've been for a swim and will definitely sort some clothes out for going away on Wednesday! Yesterday afternoon was spent sewing up the little one's cardigan, just the buttons to go on now.
Might go for a mooch around to look for a new white T shirt, can't seem to find one that I like and is of decent quality.
Hope you're all ok and have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX9 -
@camelot1001 I know just what you mean about white t shirts. I'm currently wearing a recently bought, slightly ribbed, scoop neck one from M&S but so many of them are so thin and see though or strange shapes.8

Morning all
I think it’s been raining overnight but dry for now the sky looks like it might have more coming though.
Thank you all again for the words of support, just having you behind me is so reassuring, I spent yesterday afternoon adding to my escalated complaint about another three pages quoting the care act and the need for advocacy, it’s his legal right to have an independent advocate and they just keep brushing this off and saying it’s his mum, the simple fact that she wants him home and he doesn’t want to go should trigger the need for an advocate, I also asked to see the completed risk assessment ( thanks Snoozer 😍) they also said that the issues I have raised in the past were addressed at the time and were no longer happening, so I pulled them up on this and said the issues were still happening until mum went into hospital so they were not addressed at all, they also said the sw had been in close contact with the respite place to ensure smooth transition into him going home, wrong ! They have had two phone calls and that is all. I have set it out very simply and factually and asked them to reply to every point. I wish I could share it here but I don’t think it’s appropriate. I finished it by saying that it’s only a matter of time before something happens to him and then it will be one of those lessons have been learned things at Robs expense.
He will be going home tomorrow as it’s too late to stop it now but I shall keep working in the background, today I shall email the MP.
I’m hoping to get out in the garden today but will see what the weather does I need to do some dead heading and tidy up out there.
Dinner tonight will be a bbq hopefully, I cooked some fresh beetroot yesterday, i cook it on the hob till tender and then roast it in the oven with olive oil and salt then peel and slice it while it’s still hot and serve with melted butter and Parmesan it’s absolutely delicious and my mouth is watering already.
I have a 15 minute zoom interview tomorrow to become a home help / companion it’s on a self employed basis and the money is very good so fingers crossed that goes well, I also have one on Wednesday which is helping people with LD but the money is not so good so I am not sure if I should go or not. I have also seen another three I want to apply for so will do that today / tomorrow.
Thank you again for your support xxx
I Hope Nan is ok xx
Also not seen Derek for a while so hope he is ok too xx
Have good days all and take care xx
