They Are Not Listening

Hi, My daughter has had a threatening letter from DEBT RECOVERY PLUS. Apparently somebody whose initials are J.W. has overstayed the parking of his Enterprise Rental Vehicle at Luton Airport Drop Off and has given her address when he hired the vehicle. J.W. does not and has never lived at this address. I contacted Enterprise to see what form of identification he used when hiring the vehicle, but they have declined to tell me. Whatever he is using it is fake. Both my daughter and I have tried calling DRP several times but nobody answers. She has sent them several letters proving he doesn't live there but they don't listen. How do I convince them that he does not live at this address and to stop sending letters threatening Court action.

So JW has been issued with threatening letters? Not your daughter?? If that's the case then it could be dealt with the same as any mis-addressed post. You can mark it return to sender and drop it in the post box. Or ignore it.

Yes the letters may be threatening all sorts but if they aren't addressed to your daughter or anyone else in the household then they are of no consequence. Yes they will escalate, yes they may eventually be paperwork sent regarding a county court judgement, but that will be against JW and no one else.

She could report Debt Recovery Plus to the CSA for continuing to use her address, causing distress, when they could have tried tracing JW or passed the disputed case back to the PPC.
