Thank you in advance for any help through this difficult period in their lives.

Every council seems to have made their own version of the DFG application form.
You don't say where your parents live so here is an example from one of the Greater Manchester councils.
As you can see, the relevant section (3.33) has the expected two columns, as do the forms from other councils that I have seen.
Disability Rights UK says The actual amount of DFG that someone can get depends on the income and savings of the disabled person (and their partner).
The Govt website says How much you get usually depends on your household income and household savings over £6,000
...so there is no doubt that each entry on that form you have is for the household income and household savings and investments of applicant and partner.

Is there not a separate sheet/page telling you how to fill in each section? If not, there will probably be a phoneline to call.1

Thank you for the replies. It is a form issued by North Lincolnshire Council. All sections except the savings one have the 2 columns to enter separately for you and your partner. I’m not sure how to upload a pic of the actual sheet to show this. I will give them a call tomorrow to be clear what I need to enter.I didn’t realise that every council May have a different application form 🙈
Thank you again for your replies.0 -
Without wishing to pry but what are you actually wanting from the council? First does either or both of your parents qualify/claim Attendance Allowance? My wife has Osteoporosis and spinal damage and qualifies for it.Since then she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I am her sole carer. We do qualify for council tax refund of 25%. I am Diabetic with mobility issues, I have been advised to apply for a Blue Badge (that takes 16 plus weeks) I have also applied for Attendance allowance but no idea if it will be granted.
Neither of us receive any benefits - We are not rich but like many with the WFA debacle applied for Pension Credit and missed out as just over the limits. The attendance allowance has paid for home modifications and such - I am 85 in September and my wife is 82.
When seeking council help/advice I finished up lodging a formal complaint when I was accused of being a liar. I eventually received an apology of sorts but that is all. Admiral Nurses have been great and there are a couple of contacts at the council who do try to help but they are fighting a losing battle. Our Doctor is very supportive.

You may find that application for a Blue Badge takes much less time. My original, after being informed that no paperwork (hospitals were limiting hard copies, because of covid) would mean no acceptance with a suggestion of asking my GP for a health record, took a couple of days after sending them the record.
For renewal, I had to call as I can't get my newer laptop to recognise my camera, in order to copy my paperwork. The very helpful lady did my renewal on the spot, as she had my details on her computer. The actual 'badge' came within 2 or 3 days and it isn't even due to start until mid August. It was delayed, as I forgot to pay using the council's payment email.0
