Reporting back - haven't managed to do any macrame apart from a bracelet but I taught myself to crochet instead and so far I have made three scarves, a mini Christmas wreath, snowflakes and this bag which is crocheted with string (unfortunately the second reel was a horrible grey colour). Managed to line it by hand and now thinking I need to get a sewing machine!
  • That looks great @Chloe_G! Well done on teaching yourself to crochet too :)

That bag is amazing!  Especially as you have only just learned to crochet, well done!

Crochet is the challenge that still eludes me lol, I have tried many many times but I just cannot seem to pick it up....I can knit up a storm but cannot crochet at all, so my eyes are slightly green looking at your beautiful bag  :)

I used to knit a lot when I was younger but when I went back to it a few years ago, I found it really hurt my arms (arthritis).  I have really persevered with the crochet and watched loads of YouTube very slowly!  It is so different from knitting but it's definitely more versatile!
