Sadly if everyone goes with companies that have limited renewable generation (like outfox) prices are less likely to change

I'm on the Octopus variable tariff. I'm thinking of moving to the EDF Simply Tracker as it had the £50 of the standing charge and as a low user the Standing Charge is n early half my total bill. I was happy with Octopus but I need to see ways of saving. Then again should I fix? I am going around in circles so any thoughts on this?

If you fix you have some certainty on the rate you will pay. If you don't fix, you are basically gambling on whether the market goes up or down. If all other things are equal and the EDF tariff is £50 cheaper, then chose that surely? I always fix because I like to know what rate I'll pay for the next 12 or 24 months.
