Faulty car

Options
Hello,
This may have been covered before and if so I apologise.
i purchased a car from Cinch which had performance issues almost immediately after receipt.
They booked it into a local garage but because the fault was intermittent they could only go on the symptoms i described which pointed possibly to a brake issue.
they checked the brakes which were so worn they were metal on metal which they repaired ( great)
however, the Intermittent fault continued although it might only happen every couple of weeks initially.
After a few weeks the fault happened every drive so i contacted cinch again as I knew a garage would now be able to diagnose it.  At this point it was outside the 90 warranty but I had purchased an extended warranty so all should be Ok?
So, i go to the extended warranty group and they say its not covered because its not an issue that occured AFTER the intial cinch warranty.
cinch then said take it back to the manufacturer as its under their 7 year warranty.
manufacturer says its not covered as the service history was not completed by an approved garage.
i now have an expensive car, stuck in a garage miles away with no one willing to help me.
i bought it in good faith, paid a lot of money and 4 months later its either going to cost 1,000s to repair or is only worth scrap value
i am retired disabled person and this has taken all my savings and i have nothing left. Advice please? And sorry for the long post.

    Welcome to the forum.

Several manufacturers give or used to give 7 year warranty.

Make, model and mileage of yours please?

Also, what is that fault which now happens every drive?

Hi its a Kia sportage with 25k on the clock, the fault is a screeching noise that results in a jerk of the car ( which initially why i thought it was the brakes)
the garage witnessed it today and have a suspicion its a camshaft issue but there are also some frayed belts and electrical issues going on.  Its clearly quite serious which is why they advised goo g to kia.  However, as stated kia say the service history is nit by approved kia garages so its not covered.

Yes, you've said that twice now. What evidence do you have for that?

    Kia themselves say:

Q: Must a Kia car be serviced by a Kia dealer or authorized repairer for the 7 year warranty to remain valid?
A: No... you can use an independent repairer without affecting your vehicle warranty.

Kia admin have said directly to me that it must be by an approved garage and if not i need details of several items even down to which oil was used.  I didnt own the car then but have managed to locate the garage who say they would not have those records on the system.

Wonder if it ever had the famous tensioner issue fixed.
These were well known, to squeel & then stop working, as belt slipped.
You could ask a Kia dealer to see if it had the recall work done.

Could it be the collision avoidance system malfunction?

Although my car is a different manufacturer, I know if you get too close at certain speeds it activates in my car and it sounds  like what you are describing.

Thanks to born_again also, sorry i cant reply directly as a new member i cant have  links in my responses.   Actually that sounds possible as the garage mentioned something about tension in a belt( sorry i have no mechanical knowledge) not sure where that leaves me but that might be helpful to mention to kia.  I have no issue with Kia just that I have no support from the seller and have no idea what to do next.
