DCB Legal again - new proceedings

Hi there!
I've been reading thread after thread about DCB and after the most ridiculous few years, they've finally issued proceedings against me.
Claimant is Euro Car Parks Ltd (via DCB Legal)
I'm not able to add a picture but here are the particulars:-
1. The D is indebted to the C for a parking charge issued to vehicle x at x
2. The dates of contravention are xx/xx/2023
3. The D is pursued as the driver of the vehicle for breach of the terms on the signs (the contract). Reason: no valid pay and display/ permit was purchased
4. In the alternative the D is pursued as the keeper pursuant to POFS 2012 Sched 4
C claims
1. £170 being totally of PC and damages
2. Interest at 8%
3. Costs and court fees
As a bit of background, no initial notice to keeper was received which I have advised ECP and the several companies that came before DCB. I still have the parking ticket which is proof of payment but was unable to put the reg in at the time of purchase (payment still taken even without reg) which they class as a major keying error, but have yet to evidence the machine was fully functional at the time.
I've put several questions to ECP and all the debt collection agencies and Solicitors that came before, with no real response so I just can't see how DCB plan to defend the same.
Now, I'm perfectly fine to file the AOS (still in time) and the Defence but I'm considering whether a counterclaim is in order here. Not only has this been a huge issue for my mental health, but I've felt bullied and threatened by the relentless nature of contact. I've seen previously this was advised against, but has anyone tried and had success? Not for the monetary gain, just to turn the tables and flag the behavior with the Court.
Thanks for reading or for any advice!

Counterclaims usually lose (they are hard for a lay person to argue on a legal footing with a definite cause of action), and we all know DCB Legal will discontinue this claim by Xmas.
So if it were me, I'd just put in a defence.
You've hopefully searched and read all the recent national newspaper articles about their faulty machines and watched Lynda Eagan's video showing how these rogue machines do this to people?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
