Octopus Not So Smart Meter

All,

I have been with Octopus for over 4 years. In all that time I have never had gas usage show on my meter. I have previously tried several times to get this rectified. Each time it dies a death as Octopus just let the request go cold.

I am trying again and am a few months in to the latest request to get gas usage visible on the meter. I am being soft soaped by the usual chirpy and brightly coloured emails and promises of what will happen. These are interspersed with threats to delete the thread if I don't respond to any email within 2 days, whilst my emails and ongoing request remains unanswered/resolved for long periods of inactivity. 

The current Octopus response is that they are awaiting the metering team to do something. This has been for well over a month now.I am often asked the same questions again and again (it seems this is their way of pretending to progress things and appear engaged). One of my favourites being "are there any walls or doors in the house?"

What are my options? Is this good for the ombudsman? Over 4 years of a smart meter not working correctly and not being resolved. Has anyone else suffered a similar, PR friendly stone walling from Octopus?  What can I do to make them resolve an extremely fundamental problem?

I fear I will expire from old age before anything is done.

    Are you talking about the meter, in the meter cupboard, or the small display in the house?

    Does the gas meter report readings to Octopus? If so it is working correctly. 

    Is the problem that the gas usage isn’t showing up on the IHD?

    Have you ever raised a formal complaint?
