UW account taken by Octopus?
We were happy enough with Utility Warehouse for 15+ years, until I recently could not input our monthly readings on the UW app. I’m being presented with a page that asks me if I want to join UW energy? I can’t get out of this screen, so entered my readings on the UW automated phone line. UW say that my account has been switched to Octopus Energy. I know nothing about this and I’m concerned Octopus now have my bank details. UW say they are sorting this out but, following two long phone calls, nothing has been done. We don’t want to be with Octopus, and have not, knowingly, consented to switch. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no effect. Where does this leave me? What can I do in a country where nothing works anymore and I can’t get an answer from anyone. And the time and aggravation harms my health as I am disabled? Has anyone got any advice?

It is almost certainly an error, and UW will reverse it but it will take a little time.
