Options
hi,
My octopus fixed deal ends 21st august & have just been looking round for fixed offers.
my electric is classed as very hi where as my gas useage is low for the size of my house. 11500 gas 6300 electric.
Does anyone know of any decent offers about at the moment for fixed tarrifs & also heres the crystal ball question,
Between now & October price change do you think the prices will change/drop/rise going into August before my tarrif ends.
thanks.

I would say both your gas and electric are very high, but that’s high compared to mine so without knowing your situation it’s hard to know if it is high or not.My first question would be have you looked at any thing you can make more efficient to reduce your usage?
Secondly the current prediction is that the price cap won’t have a change in October and a very small drop in January - MoneySavingExpert put a post out on this yesterday.
in terms of other tariffs, take a look at cheap energy club to review compared to yours, look at the unit rates and model out what your usage say over the last 12 months would cost on those.
the other thing is whether a time of use tariff or smart tariff would be suitable for you? If you’re already on octopus you can use an app called Octopus Compare to see what your current usage would cost on any of their other tariffs0 -

Does anyone of it happen regularly, at the same time of day every day? Could you arrange to move some of your use into a ToU cheap-rate period?N. Hampshire, he/him.
