Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for today's thread start. Another day of sunny intervals with a moderate breeze, light rain possible mid afternoon and temperatures of 20 deg, but at the moment there's a lot of high cloud up there.
Well, the week seems to have flown by as it's Friday again. That must mean admin day and it's going to take me a bit longer than usual as I have all the paperwork from the DWP to look at, including yet more that arrived yesterday.
Good job I've not got too much else to do today! This afternoon I'll make a chicken madras for tomorrow's main meal but tea tonight is the usual fish with some oven chips. Yesterday's fridge cleaning session went well and all leftover bits have been used up; I like a clean start for the weekend!
Yesterday I had a leaflet through the door advertising a new barber's shop that has opened on our local parade. I can't envisage which unit it's in but I think it might be what used to be a fish & chip shop that closed about 12 months ago. No use to me of course but I've kept it for DS to look at - he might be interested as he could pop in there when he's in the area. I know he said the one he usually uses has hiked their prices up a lot.
@Scarlet - Fingers crossed DH's appointment this morning is trouble-free.
@TA - I hope DD and her partner enjoy the Oasis gig; I quite like some of their stuff as long as I don't have to watch them!
An exciting evening in store for DGD at her prom, she'll look a picture and will remember it for a long time to come.
@SO - Sorry to hear you've had trouble sleeping again. Maybe a nap this afternoon?
Have a good day whatever you're planning, take care. Usual virtual hugs available if needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning everyone
Cloudy here this morning and it's to get very windy later.
I'll go down to mams this morning, to do their banking and I said I'd put some plants in a pot for her. Then I'll get the bus down to work. No packed lunch to make today as we're invited to school's picnic - I think it will have to be inside.
Little one is very excited to go to school today as she hasn't been there on a Friday for months, but her play therapy sessions are finished for the summer.
Best get on, I want to hoover and then mop the kitchen floor before I go out.
Hope everyone has a good day and your granddaughter enjoys her prom TA13 -
Morning all - I'm late to roll call today. Thanks for the start @Scarlet.We have a yellow rain warning for today and tomorrow, and, true to it, the rain is pouring down. There's also a flood warning out from SEPA so it may all get worse, or come to nothing!Haven't caught up yet so I hope that everyone is well. Hugs all round.12

Morning! Wow, Gers?! Rain!!! I think I'd give a few plants for some of that, it hasn't rained here for weeks, not really, a quick splat or two and that's it. I think I'll got to the allotment today, I have some tomatoilloes and tomatoes to plant out before they die, and I would like to have a sit down there and do some planning since things are going to change. Other than that, not a lot, OH is going to his working mens club tonight, so I will get myself some snack and watch a film. I do have to go and get some cat treats otherwise they will subject me to a campaign of disdain until I give them treats
Ruby, fingers crossed you get some replies from someone about Rob. Scarlet, enjoy the impromptu browsing
TA, fingers crossed he turns up...Coxy, ooo, what's going on? Nosey mode activated! Rosy, glad you DGS had a fab show and the people watching too...Take care all, enjoy the day, or seize it or something....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here and quite warm already I have the last load of holiday clothes in the wm so will hang them out later.
I had a lovely day with Rob yesterday and then when I dropped him off he wandered off into the lounge and I said to the staff I can’t say goodbye to him I’ve just got to go, the staff said hang on and came back with a present and cards from Rob and all the staff, I was a sobbing mess by this point I hugged the manager and walked off 🥲 I got back into the car and cried all the way home, it was like leaving your child and knowing that they were going to suffer.
I got home and cried some more then wrote another email escalating the complaint as the deadline has now passed, I have had an email this morning to say that the draft response has been passed for approval and will be with me shortly, so we wait a little bit longer, please keep everything crossed it goes in his favour 🤞 I know that you are all as invested in this as much as I am and I thank you for that ❤️If it doesn’t go in his favour the next step will be the ombudsman and the MP I will take this as far as I can to protect him.
Dinner tonight will either be lasagne or a chicken salad with new potatoes, we had lots of salads on holiday with walnuts and cheese and seeds in so I will try and recreate one, we may make the lasagne too for next week if we don’t have it tonight.
I need to do some housework today and finish unpacking my case and I need to nip up to see mum.
TA I hope your dgd enjoys her prom xx
Scarlett I hope your DH appointment goes well xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
TA hope DGD enjoys her prom and here dad does his duty
Ruby, i like everyone here hope that common sense prevails and Rob is soon back with you. How wonderful that the team appreciate what you have done for Rob and organised a card and gift.
Had a lovely evening yesterday, DH and i went fishing with our friends for a couple of hours, then had fish and chips supper. I hadnt been fishing since i was a little girl with my late Ddad so it bought back great memories.
I caught 6 fish to DH zero, he blamed his rod but took it in good humour.
DD due back from London today think her Ddad will be happy as he has been looking after DGC all week.
Take care folks whatever the weather may throw at us hugs to all who want them
