bought one fromt here and no problems, friend bought one and happy with his purchase aswell.
perhaps if people are going to be negative they could be more specific with what they were unhapp with, service, delivery, quality, aftersales etc...0 -
we bought ours a few years ago-was on special a 2+3 seater with 4 recliners.we have had probs with the recliners on the 3 seater and they cant fix them now-we have and insurance on them.
although the part you can see is leather all the nooks and crannies are leather effect and are NOT covered by the insurance policy.
they get commission for selling the insurance or so the guy who came to fix the recliners told us but i think its worthless as they cant fix some probs which i feel would be common ones to everyone not just us
i wouldnt want to buy a suite from L OF L again but i take note of all the good comments above and i remember no matter what you buy or where you buy it someone will have problems

When companies go bust and then change their name slightly and open up the next day after fleecing the public, they deserve to be slagged off and people warned about them.
I agree it is a big gamble, in this country, buying a sofa (or many other things) and when things go wrong getting anything done about it.
Once these people grab your money, they don`t want to let go of it and will promise you anything to get it.
Best advice,buy it with a credit card.0 -
My sofa's from LOL were delivered New Year's eve.
I bought the one that was advertised in the paper's (did go to see it first), for £599.
Leather and leather match recliners. The leather match bit is on the back and the kick backs on bottom fronts.
Brown 3 seater, 2 seater and a 'Free' 1 seat armchair (which I didn't want and will now have to ebay!).
I ordered it on 01/10/2007, told it was in stock & delivery would be 2 to 4 weeks, absolutely guaranteed for Xmas.
After I paid (1st OCT: CC), throughout November they run ads in national newspapers for guarenteed Xmas delivery if you order now.
When there was no sign of delivery I called them.
The lady that answered the phone actually 'puffed' when I said I wanted to know when it would be delivered!
She said that they were in the country (from China) on 8th Dec: and I would get mine 7 to 10 days after that.
Still didn't come.
Rang again a week before Christmas (and a guy that sounded drunk or rather happy), said I hadn't a chance in hell of getting it before Christmas.
I mentioned that after my purchase they had advertised delivery guaranteed for Xmas on new sales in all the papers, so where was mine?
He replied 'Oh yeah, we do that, but no-one ever gets them. Its just what we say to get your money'. I was really annoyed.
I asked what I could do about it and he said 'Well .............nothing'.
Christmas eve I rang to ask again and this time was told they were coming into country on 27th Dec: and would be delivered 7 to 10 days after that.
I asked for the manager, he was far to busy to talk to me .........selling sofa's in their sale!
So asked for his full name, so as to write a complaint regarding breach of contract (also mentioned what the guy had said to me).
In their T&C's it states along the lines of 'if we cannot deliver for ANY reason you will be informed immedieately'. They didn't bother to ring me once.
Out of the blue, 30th Dec: phone call to say they will deliver next day
New year's eve.
If I couldn't take them then it wouldn't be untill end of Jan: because 'People are waiting on these'
No warning or time to get rid of old sofa's. The guy who was going to take the old ones was on leave so didn't have the work van to shift them.
I ended up with a whole sitting room full of sofa's and not being able to get into the room to sit down.
The old one's are now in the hallway (till next week now), I live in a tiny flat, and I still have the 1 seater to shift.
All in all its been a nightmare.
Saying that the sofa's are quite good quailty, comfortable, sturdy and well made. I think they were value for money.
Sorry this took so long, I've been fuming all over Xmas about this.
Every time I saw their ad, or heard them guarentee delivery on the radio it wound me up.
I paid £120 for insurance (& £69 delivery), as I got 2 1st grandchildren this year.
If you are not in a hurry and prepared for a long wait, go for it.

My mum made the very big mistake of going to LOL, 2 suits delivered wrong color, cream instead of brown!!!. Then infomormed that they were coming from the far east so further delay. When she queried the so called Italian leather claim, the guy in the shop with a very straight face told her that they were Italian cows but the leather is shipped to China were the sofas are made. They offered my mum cushions a dining table and garden furniture, at which point she saw sense and walked away.
2 weeks later at 7am in the morning delivery drivers turned up with the sofas.
Next door neighbours have LOL sofas which recline, and boy dont you know it sounds like heavy lifting gear. The cheap range of sofas at LOL are usually leather match, if you go for the higher price range I think they are ok, but are no cheaper than DFS, Harveys, SCS, MFI etc.CUT OFF DATE FOR XMAS 2008 1st NOVPB £17.87, Ipoints 3907, QUIDCO £217.94,SHOP&SCAN 1950, LITESPEED 1265,PINECONE £8,BOOTS £18.62, IPSOS 1190, VALUED OPINIONS £19.25,MISC SURVEYS CLICK THROUGH ACCS ETC £23,0 -

It stood a good battering from my kids. I only changed it as it had biro pen all over it! Yikes!!
A good rub with a baby wipe gets rid of biro pen on a leather suite. Maybe I shouldn't have told you if you've already got a new one though....0 -

We tried everything. Wipes faded it slightly. I also tried hair spray, BIG MISTAKE! LOL."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
