IHT and Probate

Hi, I submitted a probate application in respect of my father on line as there was no tax to pay, thinking that the estate was exempted. I found out that I required to submit a IHT 400 because I needed RNRB to be below the threshold. I have now submitted the IHT 400 and all the associated schedules.
In doing the IHT 400, the figures are slightly different (not considerable), because of advice from HMRC about putting zero figures against some things, realising that I had not calculated the share price quite accurately and adding slightly more to the lifetime gifts. I am well below the threshold for IHT as I have also claimed transfer of NRB and RNRB from my mother.
I am currently waiting to hear back from HMRC - almost 20 working days.
I am concerned that when the figures are supplied by HMRC that they wont align. I can explain any discrepancies and obviously the IHT 400 shows all the detailed calculations.
I know this may delay things further. Part of me is wishing that I had not gone alone with this but I have acted in good faith and worked very hard to get accurate figures and understand everything that was being requested.

You may get a query from the probate office but I think it more likely to pass without any more delay.0

Thank you. That is good to know that you think that. I am hopeful. HMRC has already taken longer than 20 days, they now say not to phone before 25 days. The Probate Service said they would send me a letter in the circumstances and I said I was happy to receive this via email. I really want things to move faster now, although I do acknowledge that a lot of the delay was due to my own mistake.0

Keentoknowmore I'm in exactly the same predicament and was even told by a solicitor that IHT forms were not required however we got a reply from Probate asking us to fill out the forms.
However my issue at the moment is that I sent my IHT forms 24 hr tracked with Royal Mail and they still haven't arrived after 72 hrs.
I read in another forum that HMRC don't acknowledge receipt of paperwork and that all the forms are sent to a central location in Wolverhampton and then scanned and sent to relevant tax dept?!
No wonder it takes so long to deal with IHT and probate?!
There seems no way of chasing up the RM let alone HMRC0
