Secure Funeral Solutions Ltd in liquidation how do we get will back

Options
Hi,
I am trying to help the partner of a colleague who recently passed away.  They made a will using Secure Funeral Solutions Ltd, 217 Portabella Road, Sheffield.  This company has since gone into liquidation.  They held the signed copy of the will at their offices and his partner only has an unsigned copy.  Does anyone have any advice on what she can do?  Will these documents have been moved somewhere?

Do you know who the Liquidators are ?   If so contact them.

Unfortunately they were not a regulated company. Had this been made with a solicitor the stored will would have been passed to another solicitor, I think it unlikely that a liquidator would hold on to such documents after all this time as they are only interested in the company finances.

When you say partner, do you mean partners who were not married or in a civil partnership? If that is the case it is particularly difficult is the signed will cannot be traced as the only way the partner could inherit is if they go to court.

OP says "the" signed copy. Presume therefore that they mean the original, as opposed to the draft / unsigned copy held by the partner. But best to check yes.

OP, if the person is still happy with their will, and the original can't be found, then perhaps just sign the unsigned copy afresh with new date and witnesses, if that works?

Yorkie1 OP is helping the partner of a colleague who has passed away. The colleague clearly can't sign the will.

Don't know how I missed that point - thanks for pointing it out!
