Octopus may agree to fit the isolator switch for free, they did for me, but that was 3 years ago.

They will not fit a CU of any type for you though that is outside of their responsibilities.

Once you have the isolator switch installed then your own electrician can safely do the rest of the work as they will not need to pull the main fuse but can use the isolator switch instead. 

They do actually.

They have done it for me twice at our house.

What they will not do is touch or modify any existing consumer unit.

Just to be clear, as part of the installation of other equipment they will of course fit a CU if it is required, just like any electrician. If it is just a request to fit a CU on its own along with the the isolator switch then no, that is not part of their obligation as your energy supplier...

@matt_@matt_drummer Did Octopus install something (EV charger, solar panels or heat pump) to your house or they've just fitted the isolator switch and CU? Thanks

Octopus have fitted an air source heat pump and an ev charger at our house.

Both have their own consumer units installed by Octopus. The ashp actually has two.

Octopus also fitted an isolator switch in my meter cabinet.

And they removed my gas meter when they fitted the heat pump.
