MET Notice to Keeper Disabled Parking

Hi All, looking for some guidance. I have received a Notice To Keeper from MET Parking Services. They have issued a fine to me for parking in the marked Disabled Bay at Macdonalds. I had my Blue Badge Displayed correctly and was in Macdonalds eating a burger and fries, my car was in the parking space for 72 minutes, which they claim exceeded a 60 minute deadline. I was under the impression I was allowed 3 hours. I want to appeal, should I?

I am afraid that you are wrong, its a common misconception, whereas the Blue booklet tells you that the badge and rules don't apply on private property and to check the actual signs and rules, same as on public street or when in council car parks etc. Always check the signs when parking , the 3 hours is quite specific on locations
The 3 hours only applies in certain circumstances and places, I suggest that you study it again
The Equality Act 2010 applies on private property, requiring reasonable adjustments
I suspect that you should have registered in McDonald's for extra time, but didn't
Met Parking don't issue fines, magistrates do
Met Parking have sent you an invoice for the alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property
Complain about it to the business under the Equality Act and as a customer, insisting that they get it cancelled, plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad2 -
Whilst you are wrong about always having 3 hours, you ARE entitled to an extended, longer parking time than able-bodied people. No paying this scam invoice!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
