Letter of claim - Overdales

Options
Hello, firstly i appreciate i'm going to be lynched for this BUT I struggle with searching for things online and i've read the welcome threads and the answer is probably here somewhere so please go easy on me and if you could just point me to the right thread please.

Essentially, i've received a Letter of Claim from Overdales LTD on behalf of Lowell Portfolio LTD (The original people were Sky, i've been passed around the houses) And i'm not sure how to deal with the reply form, I just want to get it right. Can someone simplify the process for me please? I'm all ears so will take all the advice on board. I'm worried i haven't redacted the correct info and don't want to be in trouble but I assume theres a general guideline for this? The only thing i've found i think relates to parking notices so unsure whether it correlates?

Many thanks all.

It is all set out here

    https://debtcamel.co.uk/letter-before-claim-ccj/

So you tick boxes c and I and ask for all the evidence

This is likely to progress to a full claim. Do you have a defence e.g. Has it been more than 6 years since the debt started?

The only defence i really have is I left my ex partner and she just carried it on after i'd moved out unbeknowingly in my name, no idea how they've got my new address and was completely unaware. I mean it's only £200 i'm not overly arsed but in my head its her problem but everythings in my name so i know I just don't have a leg to stand on

They will assume that you won't defend a claim and they get an easy win.

I know that this does not follow guidance but you could let them know that is not going to be easy for them and tick box D saying that you will defend any claim

I think though that you should try to have £200 saved somewhere in case you do need to pay a ccj before it gets registered.

You could have a 'without prejudice' discussion to see if they will accept a smaller sum
