Does this roofing quote sound reasonable?

We've just been quoted £3,600+VAT for an emergency roofing repair (a couple of tiles fell off the front of the house, and a couple more look very loose). The quote looks high to me (Greater London area), but I was wondering whether anyone had any feedback, based on experience?

The quote was for:

The quote was for:
- removal of tiles (25 concrete tiles)
- replacement of wooden batons and felt
- replacement of flashing
- repair of filler work between flashing and top roof tiles
- replacement of original tiles
- replacement of gutter beneath lowest row of tiles.
- replacement of gutter beneath lowest row of tiles.

Get at least 3 quotes and compare, prices change a lot and are very location based... plus the "emergency" key word adds premium.
All I know is that scaffolding costs around £1000 to rent, set up and remove.0 -
Looks like less than a days work. Depending on ground conditions, a scissor platform or cherry picker would only cost £250 (plus delivery), so cheaper than scaffolding.Newbie_John said: All I know is that scaffolding costs around £1000 to rent, set up and remove.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

We just had a new roof fitted to a terrace house in Greater London area for £7k which included new guttering and facia boards, so the quote to me above looks over the top compared to whats required.0

A relative recently had a new roof on a decent sized semi for a similar price. The reroofing used artificial 'slate' and the amount paid explicitly took account of the salvage value of the natural slate that was removed. Maybe something similar happened here?Boohoo said:

Hmm, I didn't notice particularly - a bit like flat grey rectangles!WIAWSNB said:casper_gutman said:

Maybe something like this: https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/artificial-slate-roof-tiles/eternit-thrutone-slate-blue-black-roofing-tile-600mm-x-300mm1 -
Extremely happy with the work, very professional and super fast as well, was a standard roof with the larger tiles. Also gave me a choice of 3 different colours.WIAWSNB said:ritz55 said:We just had a new roof fitted to a terrace house in Greater London area for £7k which included new guttering and facia boards, so the quote to me above looks over the top compared to whats required.Blimey!
