I have a Facebook account (well actually 2 accounts now) which I use largely for just local community events news and marketplace buying and selling a couple of bits.
I recently bought a new iPad, and I could not get it to log into my old account - it simply wouldn’t accept the password - and after going round in circles I made a new account with a similar name.
All good, apart from I think my messages are not being delivered to people from the new account. I can read messages sent to me from people replying to my marketplace listings but when I reply I get no response. The message says sent but I don’t think they are being read. I think potential buyers think they are being ignored.
What is going on with this? What setting do I need to look at to fix this please?

Recovering access to your original account sounds the best option. Have you tried the “Forgotten password?” flow on facebook.com, choosing email or SMS reset, then log in on the iPad. Are you using the Facebook app or accessing via a browser? Archive or delete the duplicate account once done.
