I am almost driven to distraction here. Is it possible for a non agent i.e an individual like me can ring the HMRC ? I have tried their 0300 number but unless I was mistaken I was told ,in the automated message ,that this was a line for Agents. Did I hear wrong ?
Thank You

You don't say why you're trying to contact them which makes a difference to the number to use.

And I've been told to ring at 8 am when they start so that you're at the front of the queue.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thank you for your kind response. I'm reaching out for assistance with an issue regarding my pension tax code. Despite being notified of a change to my tax code on 29 May, my pension provider is still using the old code. They've informed me that HMRC supplies them with the tax code to use.I'm trying to understand why HMRC hasn't updated my pension provider with the new tax code. Unfortunately, when I rang the 0300 number, I was advised that it's for agents only.Could you please provide me with a telephone number that I can use to contact HMRC directly as an individual? I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this matter.0

You should have been provided by letter a breakdown of your tax codes, and any subsequent changes. If its change due to underpayment check the date of the change as these can be deferred to the next tax year. Eg underpayment 2024-25, payback taken 2026-27.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
