yesterday having had a feeling that my other halfs sister was trying to use my house as some sort of credit dumping ground as a credit collection agency letter came to my house addressed to her i thought i would try the 2 credit companies to find out what is going on.
equifax, 13 quid it cost me for a report that used to cost £1, but i got it straight away and it was clear what was what.. except using the site is a nitemare, you spend 5 minutes trying to find your credit report if you divert from the form and want to go to faq or some other section.
hmmmm i thought, lets now try experian.. so i signed up to this one and oooh a 30 day free trial once signed up. i waited....and waited....and waited. today i get an email from them now saying i have to send a photocopy of my passport and 2 bills? get out of it, im not sending personal info like that through royal mail. what is the point of a photocopy of my passport? what does that prove? nothing.
so i phoned them, and again they repeat that i must send this stuff. i told them to stuff it, it proves nothing, if they were that worried that i was not who i said i was then they could log the ip and check through my isp that it was for my home address. if equifax can ask various questions and give me my details then im sure as hell experian can do the same. i put this to the female on the phone and she said " but we are not equifax, we are totaly seperate" yes well done dear, i know this but you are the SAME in what you offer, you give out the same data protected information.
and to top it off i checked my scoring on equifax and it showed up a 2 missed payment from 1/12 years ago.
which never happened, singlepoint mobile phones attempted to take money from my account once my contract ended and they suceeded for 1 month, i contacted them and they apologised, i then cancelled the direct debit and told them i wanted my money back for that month which they agreed to. so they have obviously tried for 2 more months to take money from my account and it reminded me that they still owe me £30.
vodaphone have taken over single point so i am just about to phone them and give them some !!!!.
