Santander switch question

Hello all I have a quick question about the 180 pounds switch money. I already have log in details for Santander but closed my accounts long time ago, well bank accounts anyway, may have had savings accounts still sitting there (hope that does not disqualify me). Anyway what I wonder is, I have my donor account ready to go. When applying for the Santander account, is it ok to move 2 household direct debits to the Santander account once open or do they have to be linked to the donor account and be switched over??

Once you didn't have a current account with Santander on 1st January AND you never received a switching incentive from them in the past, then you're eligible.

It makes no difference whether you set up the 2 direct debits on the new account or move them across with the donor account. What matters is that they're set up and active when they assess your account 60 days after your switch as been instructed.
