Nissan

A bit of a long story, but Ill keep it as short as I can. My 3 month old Nissan juke stopped working completely unresponsive while on holiday. RAC came out and couldn't find the fault and told me the car would be towed to my nearest dealership.  I scrambled to take the train home which was over 100 miles away and got a call to say the car is now going to the local dealer as they cant tow it further than 62miles. Nissan dealer wouldn't return the car to me even if it wasn't my fault it was not working.

Spoke to Nissan on the Monday and after 4 days eventually escalated my case to complaints to someone who assured me once the car was repaired they would get it back to me.  They knew where I was and they were in touch with the dealer and had agreed this with them too as it was a Nissan Fault.
2 weeks later the car was fixed ,faulty wiring, which shut the car down. I then got a call from Nissan customer services 1500 on a Friday afternoon to say that unfortunately they can no longer return the car to me as it was less than 300 miles  ( even though they knew ) and that I had to collect the car 200mile round trip the next day ( Saturday  open from 8-1) or by Monday afternoon otherwise the hire vehicle would be my responsibility. Now I get that I would have to return the hire car but to promise the return only to then refuse. Do I have a case for having my expenses recouped for petrol and the fact that I had to hire a baby sitter to watch my kids at 530 am so they didn't have to endure Nissans error? 5 hour journey in total last minute because it seems of their incompetance

The person at Nissan who assured me has completely shut me down saying that she cant do anymore and that my case is now closed as I collected the car.  I just feel so angry that they can do this.
