Secondary carer for my Dad, benefits?

Hi, any help gratefully recevied
My Dad lives at home, he has a 24 hour live-in carer. I visit him three days a week, an hour drive away and help with everything the carer doesn't do and some things she does. Over the 20 hour a week limit.
He is registered partially sighted but doesn't receive any other benefits. I do not have any income, I am a homemaker, but my partner earns enough that I am not due any benefits myself. We have two teenage children
I understand that once the youngest is 14 I wont be able to receive credits for National Insurance for being a stay at home parent
Am I correct in thinking that I can start receiving NI credits from looking after my Dad?
Could I receive any other benefits - someone mentioned to me recently that I could claim a petrol allowance for my travel?
I am not looking to take advantage of benefit's I'm not due, just if I could get some help with the extra expenses
Thanks in advance

I think you only get NI credits for a child under 12.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline. Beware fee charging companies with similar names.0
