Morning allThanks for the start ScarletPhew it's going to be another scorcher todayOff out later to collect some reactolite glasses I got with a voucher from the opticians. Not had them before but since I had my cateract op a year or so ago that eye is very sensitive to bright lights so, hopefully, they'll do the job.Looking forward to the start of Wimbledon later. It might be cooler indoors than out today!Well I thought Rod Stewart was better than I expected and quite enjoyed it in the end.Hope everyone has a cool day today x11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Phew I don't think there will be much happening here today. I got back from the van mid afternoon, after stopping off to do a SS on the way. I was exhausted after putting that lot away and then unpacking my bag. The washing went in straight away and soon dried, but I think any ironing will have to wait until the weather cools down. I think we are forecast to hit 30 deg today.
I must go out and water all the pots and tubs next, before the sun gets round the back. Sadly the hose doesn't reach the front so that will involve the watering can.
Chrisca I too was surprised with Rod's performance, much better than I expected but the heat certainly got to him. Talking of heat I don't envy the players at Wimbledon today either.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning
Another hot day forecast, due to get up to 32degrees here. Apologies to those who haven't got this weather, can i send some to you? I was expecting my DD in the long hot summer of 1976 and dont remember feeling this grumpy. It must be my age.
Usual chores today, then a day of trying to keep us and big dog cool. More cherries to process for the freezer, it's the gift that keeps on giving.
Chrisca, I enjoyed watching Sir Rod more than I expected to, amazing for his age.
Have a good day all. Take care.13 -
Morning again, it's going to be a hot day I think (even here!)
Yesterday was warm, we spent most of it sitting in the shade though, we don't sunbathe.
Dh is talking about going to Beamish Museum today, but I have my doubts. If its going to be really hot, it can be exhausting walking about in the sun, and he tires easily.
Our Australian family are arriving next week, so we're looking forward to that .
They've hired an AirBnB nearby.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.14 -

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, bet you're excited to see the family.
Yesterday was quite nice weatherwise but fairly windy. Washing dried and all put away, allotment sorted for now - just need some fencing to keep the pesky rabbits out. I had a stir fry last night with veggies all from the allotment - spring onion, kale, brocolli and courgette. The cucumbers are coming thick and fast - glad DD and family are back from their trip away so they can eat some!
Swimming this morning then to allotment 1 to help someone do their weeding - an elderly chap who has been really helpful to me, it's nice to be able to do something for him in return.
It's dry for now but rain is due later. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all! Hot already, just about to go and shut the windows after some airing...Plans today are fix the guttering while the back of the shed is in shade, some washing [first lot is on], empty the magic cupboard [ it's on now] and then do some flooping about on the sofa with the fan on
Hydrate today won't you! Take care all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Morning all.
I posted earlier but the silly new verification system lost my post so I'll just wish you all a good day

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarlettRibbons.A work day for me - so hot it’s a challenge to know what to put on! Dropped DDad off at the airport - always a struggle to deal with the emotional
toll and it never gets any easier. Wine was consumed last night. I too enjoyed Rod Stewart’s set.DD is back from her solo trip to Corfu so she’s on dinner duty tonight. Got to be some perks of two adult children living with us!Have a good day all

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet.Thanks for the offer @remmie - we could do with some of that sunshine, it's all going to be in the east today. Yesterday was dry but weird. Warmth without sunshine and barely any wind early on. I did pyjama quick wash, hung them all out and then back in again in about two hours. Last night I had to swap my cotton pj bottoms for the slinky thin ones. And I took off my second layer on top!Today it's very dull, the sky is light grey, don't think that the sun will break through. I've eaten all the delicious lamb leftovers so have taken some chicken out of the freezer to use up.Rod Stewart was entertaining if slightly out of tune. For a man 80 years of age he can certainly rock. The shocks for me were how wrecked Ronnie Wood looked and how fabulous Lulu was. She was on fire. For all that (and the dreadful Dad dancing
) I thoroughly enjoyed his set. I'll catch up with others over the next week or so, anything to avoid tennis and football. Lunch will be some chicken concoction - perhaps a quick stir-fry for a change. I hope that everyone can find shade and peace. Hugs to all.11
