Good morning Scarlet, thanks for starting from another early bird.
I'm just enjoying the cooler air before the temperatures rise to the predicted 28 degrees. Yesterday although cloudy for most of the day was so humid. Plenty of cold drinks (non alcoholic) were consumed.
DH returned from his walk with big dog bearing another container full of cherries. Theres far more than we can eat so I'll be getting them ready to freeze later. He says theres lots more so I may be doing the same thing tomorrow, but who wants to turn down free cherries?
Last night I relived my younger years watching Pulp at Glastonbury. Tonight its OHs favourite, Rod Stewart, so we'll be watching that.
No doubt another salad tonight, last night I did chicken breasts stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, very tasty. We're starting to run low on some salad items so will have to get a bit inventive. Nothing else on the cards today, slothful Sunday beckons.
Have a good day all, stay safe if you have these high temperatures.11 -
Morning - thanks for the start @Scarlet.It's dull and damp here, probably set for the day. Yesterday. got rid of a few techie items, some charger plugs and Bluetooth speakers which had all been hanging around too long. Since all my devices now have the same cable connection I don't need the variety anymore. Just a little less stuff. I really enjoyed the left over cold lamb for lunch with fresh salad. There's even enough for a small lunch later.Today is an open book. Something will come along. Hugs to all.11

Hello again - it's sunny here, hope it continues.
We went for our walk in Durham yesterday, it was very pleasant walking through the city and by the river.
Didn't do much yesterday, probably won't do much today!
Hope everyone's ok and has a good day - take care folks.12 -
Morning allHot but calmer day on the wind front is promised weatherwise today.@remmie I'll be watching Rod Stewart tonight too. Loved him in the 70s and got to see him live once with The Faces. His voice, obviously, won't be as good now as then but I'm sure the crowd will help him out!Another sloth day today. At least I won't get blown away in the garden today.Have a good day all x10

Morning All
Dry this morning - first time for ages. Yesterday's rain moved away and it was quite pleasant, the washing dried really well and the bedding went back on the bed.
Bathrooms have been cleaned this morning and I've a new phone (again) so am trying to sort that out. As usual Whatsapp didn't transfer the chats so hope I don't miss anything!
Lovely to have the cherries Remmie, a lad at school brought some in last week from a tree near his house and kindly shared.
Hope you enjoy watching Glastonbury Chrisca and Remmie, I can't stand it! It's all over the radio too, I'll be glad when it's over.
Glad you had a good walk Scarlet.
Swimming this morning then off to allotment 2 for some digging. Take care. XX10 -
Good morning 😊
We had a fabulous day yesterday - we did two trails, one 5 mile, and one 2.5 mile, achieving over 21,000 steps including the walk to and from the nature reserve. It was so peaceful, bar the occasional dog bark. The trails seem to be a popular dog walk, but it was nice to nod a greeting as we passed by. Other than that, there were periods where we didn’t see anyone. At one point we hit the canal bank, and also had to walk part way around a reservoir. Being by the water helped clear the mind.
I had put a white bean soup in the slow cooker before we left, topping with dumplings which I made by adding CBD coconut oil. It’s the first time I’ve used the coconut oil as a fat source in the dumplings, and was worried about the taste, but I have a few jars to use up, so was willing to give it a try. They were amazing. There was no coconut taste, and they swelled up perfectly.
The only in hindsight, was that we were so hot by the time we got home, that perhaps soup wasn’t ideal. It was good not to have to prepare anything though, as I was too tired to be standing in the kitchen, cooking.
It’s a pick up and put away day, today. Any deep cleaning can wait until next week.
I’m doing a full Sunday roast - chicken, a vegan alternative, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, broccoli, carrots, fried cabbage and onion, Yorkshire pudding, and red onion stuffing.
Hope you all have a good day 😊12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x Enjoy your restful day 😊
Very hot here yesterday and for some reason I decided to do park run, which left me with a headache for most of the day. DDdad’s last full day yesterday so DSis hosted a BBQ - I stuck to water! We are both taking DDad to the airport this morning then it’s home to all the adult children as we are planning our holiday to Seattle later in the year.Food will be a roast chicken with salad and new potatoes.Enjoy your days everyone

Morning folks and thanks Scarlet. The wind has finally dropped after nearly a week of getting battered! Whoop.whoop.
I'm all packed, tidied and cleaned here and just waiting DS's text to say he's on his way. I've just about eaten up, only some eggs, sausages and bread rolls to take home. It worked out well making a menu plan and not just packing a random selection of food. Shopping on the way home.
REMMIE lucky you with the cherries. Back in the day we could forage for a wide assortment of fruit near the site - gooseberries, bilberries, pears, crab apples, elderberries, blackberries and sloes. Now I can only get to the blackberries under my own steam. Back then my cupboards were rammed with an assortment of jams and chutneys.
Have a good day folks and take care in the heat. Slothful is the way to go. X

Morning everyone it’s a hot one another Rod Stewart fan here got to see him many moons ago absolutely love him went to see him a few years ago he was dreadful but I will be watching him and Marc Bolan have always been my number ones I know I’m a sad old bat . Thanks for the start scarlet I’m pleased you enjoyed your day I was stood on top of a hill waving at you . All this talk of holidays is making me jealous my friend came back from salou yesterday they had visited a few places Tarragona was one of them she had some beautiful pictures never mind we are up in Northumberland in September. Themsthebreaks your walk looks lovely I’m another that’s making a roast beef dinner but I won’t be doing much else . That sounds like the washer has stopped I’ve washed a couple of my hubby’s dog walking gilets they get very grubby especially around the pockets were he’s putting poo bags and dog leads in and out I’ve just seen them hung up and thought he’s not wearing them another day of course he can’t see it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. Today is going to be hot, hot, hot! Temps up to 25 deg but feeling more like 28 at times with another warm, uncomfortable night in store. The thermometer in my living room - the coolest room in the house - had already gone past 21 deg by 8 am. Heaven knows what it will be like later in the day.
I think today will be much like yesterday with more chilling rather than pottering, although I have managed to scrape together enough for a wash load that will soon be ready for hanging out. That could be the most energetic thing I do all day!Tea tonight is half a Cornish pasty (a whole one is too much for me) with baby potatoes and veg, fruit or a choc ice for afters. Not sure about what I'll watch on TV tonight but the footie and Glastonbury will definitely be avoided. If all else fails, I have plenty of books to read.
@TA - How I miss bilberries, a happy childhood memory of summer.
I hope everyone has a good day, take care in sun if you're planning anything outdoors and remember to stay hydrated. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
