Child DLA

Hi,
My child DLA is due to be renewed in Oct. It was only awarded for 2 years may be because we were waiting for his ASD diagnosis.
He was diagnosed in March they sent me a report covering all aspects of there findings. It also shows they consulted school and other medical professionals. A SEN meeting was carried out in school and they sent details about the discussion.
Will the ASD diagnoses and school SEN report will be sufficient? I also have some hospital letters which I can include.
I don't want school to complete the section on the form. Will there be a problem if they don't?
The DLA form does not have a return date. If I send it to them begining of August will that be okay?
Thanks

Its not a problem if the school doesn't fill if or you leave that page blank. You can also get another person to fill it in if you want. Sounds like you have plenty of evidence reports.Jan0121 said:Hi,

Thank you. If I send the DLA form within the first 2 weeks of August will that be okay? The renewal is not due until end of Oct.
Is it possible DLA was awarded only for 2 years because we were waiting for ASD diagnoses.0 -
As there was no date just send it as soon as you have completed it. Remember not to send your original documents, photocopy them
children unless the most severe disabilities only get limited awards because the child could learn to cope better with it as they grow up.0 -
i have just completed the renewal fom and also added additional page explainig the child issues at home.
He has some issues in school with behavioir problems which has been noted in the school report.Majority of problems he has at home.
The hospital letter I am sending details all examinations and scans he had. They alao noted he has allot of issues in home setting.
He just had ASD diagnoses in March.
I am just wondering the DWP might contact the school? He has some issues at school but majority of them is at home so school will not be able to comment.
Thanks

Highly unlikely they will contact anyone. They rely on the evidence you send and their own guidance on disabilities/ conditions and the effects. I've been claiming DLA then PIP since I was a teenager and no professional I've asked has ever been contactedJan0121 said:i have just completed the renewal fom and also added additional page explainig the child issues at home.
