Has this been resprayed?

Hello, I have had an offer accepted on a car a few hundred miles away which I was going to pick up on Monday.

But on showing the online photos to a few of my friends, they are saying it's had a respray.

I asked the seller, who replied "No definitely not been sprayed must be a reflection".

Can you look and share your views on whether it has please?

Looks like an old respray to me.

Yes, that tailgate's been painted - and badly. Those badges just got masked off poorly, rather than removed and re-stuck to the new paint.

We're talking a ~12-15yo car, though.

Don't buy older cars sight-unseen. ESPECIALLY ones that have the potential for seriously expensive issues like an aging L320 RRS...

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I'll cancel the sale, and stand by for some abuse.

Don't buy it without a careful inspection, that's a respray.

A lot of secondhand cars have had paint.

Most done better than that one.

It shouldn't be a dealbreaker but if you buy Jaguar Landrover you have to be prepared for large repair and maintenance bills

You've done the right thing if the seller is denying it's been painted
