Smart Parking PCN recieved for an overstay of 3 minutes

Hey guys.
On 29/05/2025 I purchased a 2 hour parking from 22:00-00:00 using the app Your Parking Space.
As per the PCN letter I recieved from Smart Parking, I entered the car park at 22:08 and left at 00:03, being 3 minutes over.
I've done a little research and I believe there should be a 10 minute grace window when leaving, so why have i recieved this letter?
So far, I have appealed the decision on Smart Parking's website. I have not recieved a code or appealed via POPLA yet.
Just wondering what I should do if Smart Parking reject the appeal and I have to go through POPLA?

Check your timings, 22.08 to 00.03 is less than 120 minutes, not 13 minutes over
The 3 minutes was calculated from the purchase of the ticket, parking time was less
The joint code of practice gives you the minimum grace period
You wont receive a Popla code, Smart Parking are now IPC AOS members0 -
Came here to say this! it's not 3 mins over either - it's a total of 115 mins, one assumes you didn't pay for 1hr 45mins, only blocks of hours? what's happened...Gr1pr said:Check your timings, 22.08 to 00.03 is less than 120 minutes, not 13 minutes over

I never said it was 13 minutes over, I said I left 3 minutes after the block of 2 hours ended. I paid for a block of 2 hours from 22:00-00:00.Gr1pr said:Check your timings, 22.08 to 00.03 is less than 120 minutes, not 13 minutes over

So essentially yes I parked for 115 minutes out of the block of 2 hours, left 3 minutes after the block ended.
I haven’t recieved a response from Smart Parking yet, should I be okay?

I would suggest doing an IAS appeal for this one since there was no actual breach of the terms, It might be interesting to see if Smart "withdraw" or concede when it is pointed out that the stay paid for is less than the time on site.
(not so) Smart have obviously got some systemic issue which is incapable of working out the time across midnight.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'

Don't you mean "the stay paid for is more than the time on site".kryten3000 said:I would suggest doing an IAS appeal for this one since there was no actual breach of the terms, It might be interesting to see if Smart "withdraw" or concede when it is pointed out that the stay paid for is less than the time on site.

Yes. That's right. I blame the heat...Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:

The app is stupid because you can only buy time in chunks of 15 minutes.
