Utility Warehouse Charges

I have been trying for many months to get Utility Warehouse to speak to us about our Electricity Bills for our tiny church. We use electricity for about one and a half to two hours a week for eight light-bulbs, and Infra-Red heaters during the winter. Eighteen months ago our bill was about £400 per annum. It then jumped to nearer £900, which I half expected. Last year it was in excess of £1500. I have just received a bill which looks as if this year the charge will be well in excess of £2000. In desperation of trying to get Utility Warehouse to contact us, we have decided to change supplier, and we have instructed our Bank to stop paying the Direct Debit until such time as we come to an agreement with Utility Warehouse. Does anyone else have any suggestions for dealing with Utility warehouse? They seeem to ignore emails, and when on the rare occasions I have managed to speak to anyone on the 'phone, they promise to reply within two days, or else to send someone to check the Meter, and nothing happens.

It seems unwise to stop the direct debit. But by all means transfer to a new supplier.Be aware you will probably be on business supply rates which were uncapped if I recall correctly. My sister is also treasurer of a small church and negotiates regularly for best supply. The light bulbs will cost almost nothing - but what is the KW rating of those IR heaters?
how much electricity are you actually using.Do you keep a note of your meter readings?0 -
Do you read your meter every month and give those readings to UW?
Please give us your meter reads for the last 12 months and include the letters A C E S or our read/your read.
Not with UW but our Church paid 55p when things went haywire but now under 25p (plus hefty daily charges.
