Charities CAF Bank in meltdown since their new system went live Monday 9th June

Or better still, forced other banks to accept charity accounts

This CAF forced suspension of online systems is ominous. They state they have brought in independent experts and are working with their Global partners to find a fix to the original insecurity loophole. I doubt the system will be restored this week. I think this might be a long time down. Their third party tech partners seem to be below average, judging by their speed to resolve identified bugs and the original launch with seemingly inadequate testing.
Our charity is looking at VirginMoney as an alternative Bank - they appear to offer dual sigantory.

Online Meltdown 2.0 continues into its 10th day. CAF do not know when their system can be safely restored.
The advice to anyone from a charity considering using CAF as their bank - do not.
CAF has been hit by two major IT failures in 13 months. Their handling of the first was lamentable. They had no disaster recovery plan, no fall-back options, and no contingency plan for upscaling their call centre to cope. So when they have another long term outage, possibly of their own making, and still have insufficient call centre capability to avoid 8+ hours on hold for customers, it just makes them look grossly ill-prepared and technically inadequate.Disaster recovery is a thing - done properly it can avoid these perils. CAF appear not to have ever considered "what if" scenarios. To fail twice suggests they are not fit to be a bank.

3rd August and we've been offered the wonderful sop of not paying the £5 monthly fee in August and September - that for not having had banking at all for 11days. I can't even see the account to check whether we are going to go overdrawn - since they stopped the sweep at their "upgrade" last year we've had to do that manually. They also haven't removed the £1 charge per cheque written - at least I would have been able to make some payments but I refuse to pay for their mistakes. I don't know where else we can bank and I don't even know if we can open another bank account when I can't access any charity funds at all - all our cash and deposit account is with CAFbank. They are started to sound like the dodgy bloke that tarmacs your drive and runs away with the family silver.

They sent me a clearly automated email telling me our recent statement is now available and that we can log on to see it.
