Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off. It's dull out at the moment but sunny intervals with a light breeze and a shower possible around teatime are forecast. Expected temperatures of up to 24 deg and set to feel muggy as the day goes on.
Yesterday didn't quite turn out as planned because I got only one of the radiators done, thanks to a very l-o-n-g phone call from the (nice) chap at the DWP. It turns out I'm eligible for PC from the beginning of last November for 3 months, after that I'm not because of the funds I inherited from from DH's account, but I am again now.So complicated. Because of the length of time it's taken (their mistake), he processed a new claim for me over the phone - hence the long conversation. Confirmation letters with workings out on their way.
Usual Friday admin to do today, paint the second radiator, bake a loaf and clean the shower head that's been soaking overnight. Tea is a basa fillet with veggies, fruit for afters. I must remember to hop on the scales too to see if I've managed to shed the couple of pounds I seem to have gained over the last few months. It's definitely easier to put it on than it is to take it off!
I hope everyone enjoys their day and has a good night's sleep followed by something to look forward to over the weekend. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all! Missed another comedian last night, was feeling sick so got OH to phone a friend and take him instead. Probably severely overdid it in the last two days, could have done without going to ikea but the lamps are mostly bought [ 2 shy of the total] so that's done. I was supposed to go to the allotment this wek to plant out the leeks and the left over tomatoes but that hasn]t happend yet. Going to go against the grain and take it easy today. And it rained last night which is lovely, I can refill the 'pond' a bit, it was looking decidely dry yesterday. Not planning on cooking anything today, I'm not feeling up to food, can you believe you would ever have heard me say that?!YorksLass, at least it's sorted now and someone actully took soem time to sort it out for you..Happy brownie point radiator painting! Is it the same as the wall colour or different? Gers, i do like the sense of satisfaction from sorting out things that have been hanging around, I feel very virtous after that
Coxy, happy no DD day for a bit! camelot, wow, that's a lot of hours, enjoy the rest and respite. TTB, what's a vegan protein ball and how far do you hike? Izzy, you reminded me of someone I knew. She absolutely loved her WM, used it everyday and would even wash stuff that wasn't dirty just to use it. I think it was because it was all handwashing for her in her youth. Which is not to say you remind me of her, just what you said about finding everything to wash...dp1, good ot hear the LO is on an even ish keel at the moment. Take care all!

Hi @-taff
The protein balls are a mix of pea protein powder, oats, dates, chia seeds, syrup, cinnamon, and seed butter, mixed together and rolled into balls. You can add things to them, such as chocolate, or cocoa powder, but I prefer not to. I don't add much syrup, as I don't have a sweet tooth, but enough to help it all bind together.
Unless we're going somewhere specific, we tend to hike between 8 - 10km locally. Tomorrow it's an 8km round trail, but then there is the walk to and from the nature reserve to factor in. We will leave here around 6am, so we're not hiking when it's too hot.
The one we are going on has one steep incline/decline, one stile to navigate, but other than that it should be a steady path.8 -
Morning allRained here overnight too. Very sunny and warm now but going to still be blustery later@dp1 I'm on book 7 but should finish that one today. Am getting through them at a rate of knots!Back from a bit of food shopping. Bought some bits for easy dinners as next week is supposed to be a scorcher. The heat lessens my appetite and also the will to cook in a baking hot kitchen!Nothing else going on todayHave a good day all x8

@-taff - The radiators are white, a satin finish because I hate working with gloss paint. There's loads left so other radiators around the house could get a make over - eventually.
The walls are a matt emulsion cream colour called Biscuit that seems to change tone as the day goes on. It starts off almost white in the morning, then turns more cream looking and finally it's a pale and warm almost pinkish tone at the end of the day or when the lights are on. Very cosy looking. I used it on the skirting boards, door frame and door too. I'm so glad I took my time deciding what colour to use, I think some of the others I was considering would have been a disaster!
BTW - I hope you've still got your feet up!
On the subject of books, I've just finished an Ellie Griffiths novel, The Outcast Dead, one of the Dr Ruth Galloway series. The book I'm reading at the moment is called Big Lies in A Small Town by Diane Chamberlain and for once I can't guess the ending. I hope it doesn't disappoint.Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
