Winter Fuel Payment , possible scam

I just received a scam text re winter fuel eligibility, from a number beginning with 63 which on checking I find is in the Philippines. It gave a link to click ( I didn’t of course) so I just wanted to warn people. It said if I didn’t claim by tomorrow I might lose the payment.

As the person who started this thread we were walking around Sainsburys on thursday when my wife got a text sent to her mobile phone ,yes the same scam regarding WFP ,blocked but this is still doing the rounds,beware people.

My husband has just had one of these texts about the WFP so it’s still going round.   Fortunately I remembered this thread and convinced him it was a scam.  I strongly suspect the scammers will keep on trying throughout the winter.  

It said if we didn’t claim it by today we would lose it which is obviously a scam as we don’t have to claim it, it is paid automatically.  I checked my bank account and the last 5 payments have been the end of November and December.
