I received a penally charge notice for £140, and it its not paid in time, it will go up to £210. Apparently it was for parking or unloading in a restricted street.
The street where the car was parked does not have any yellow lines, it was a Sunday where there is a boot fair in a field, The car was parked on the street next to the field, but there was no yellow line or no permeant sign to say you can't park. and people parking, can go inside the field.
It was my first time there, did not see any lines on the road, or any sign where I parked.

When I left the road and drove away, I saw a sign pinned on a tree further down the road. But where I parked I did not see any sign, because I did not park next to a tree with the sign.
Someone just told me, they only put a temporary sign on the trees when the market is on the sunday.

There are no bays, or no lines on the road.
When I came to the car, there was no ticket on the window, but when I looked on the website I saw a ticket on the car.
There are various grounds of appeals, but I would not even know which one to appeal on.

It's shocking to know this tempoary parking contravention is not even permanent.
Any advice, would be appreciative.
Thanks

Who issued the ticket? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

As we major on private parking tickets here, Free Traffic Legal Advice (FTLA) forum will be your best bet for council penalty charges. Register there but please note that a Hotmail address may not work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:Read the sticky 'Read this first before posting your case' as well as reading through some of the other threads there ahead of posting your own details, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
