Housing element UC

Hi, I’m going through a separation. My ex partner has left. I work part time and claim UC. They are only giving me £500. I only earn £1100. My rent is £1400. So I have no money for food or bills. I have 2 older children (18 and 20) who live with me and also claim UC. Is there anyway they can claim UC housing element to help towards the rent? I know it’s probably not… just trying anything to get help at the moment. Thank you

Not unless they are on the tenancy agreement, are they giving you money towards their upkeep out of their UC? If not then you need to have a conversation about that."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

As an aside, are you certain your UC accountis correct? It probably is, to be honest, but it's worth just double-checking to make sure they're not taking any deductions they shouldn't (such as any non-dependant deductions, as your children are still under 21).0

Is the calculation based on a one-bedroom or a three bedroom entitlement?0

Have you taken your ex off the UC claim if you were claiming as a couple?
