They cannot find policy number for old Scottish Amicable bonds ?

Hi all, I thought I'd post here as I saw several threads on Scottish Amicable Investments.
In 2023 , we collected a group of old documents from lawyers office, and they found 10 bonds in my name , all dated 1984.
They are issued by "Scottish Amicable Life Assurance Society" and are all 'managed investment bonds'.
As per the rear, they appear to have vested when I was 20 (I'm 40 now). On the front, there is info such as the bond number, holder, life assured individual, $ amount, units issued, etc.
We are in Australia and it appears the company had an office in Melbourne at the time.
Prudential purchased them almost 30 years ago of course. I have been in contact with Pru a couple times and posted them all the required info they instructed
They replied that they cannot find any policy number associated with these and I'm at a loss as to what to do. For eg, if there is someone in the UK I can hire to look into it ?
I greatly appreciate any info / advice.
Best Regards,
Mike

A quick google states that Scottish Amicable Australia went into Colonial Mutual which renamed to Colonial First State no into Prudential Assurancemz8 said:Hi all, I thought I'd post here as I saw several threads on Scottish Amicable Investments.

Thank you so much! That is extremely helpful. It never then occured to me that the local operation was acquired by a different entity. Much appreciate

It depends on how the business was structured and how easy it is to divide the territories. Sometimes you'll achieve a better price by splitting and selling separately and other times selling it as one. All depends on what the buyers want and the transaction costs.mz8 said:DullGreyGuy said:
