Shed - what to think about

Options
I’ve moved into a house that has a 5ft x 3ft shed.

I need something bigger. Will probably also keep the smaller one.

The current shed is just on top of patio, can the new one do the same or should it have a proper base? Current shed door drags across the floor when opened.

I’d need a window in it and enough room to store a lawnmower, a bike, garden tools, a few pots, compost, hose etc etc

Any tips or advice on what to look for?

I intend to move in a year or so and probably rent the house out so it doesn’t need to be amazing just decent.

I'd probably lose the window if you're just using it for storage. We have a double door shed which makes getting bigger things out much easier - I also often only open one door if I'm just getting smaller things out.

Ours is very similar to this one from Wickes

Edit: ours is a 5x7 shed which fits great in a slightly oddly angled bit of our patio.

Have a 10x6 shed, no window, double doors. It gets real gloomy at the back, but as it is just a wood store, that doesn't matter.
Second shed, an 8x6, also has double doors plus a window (plastic). The extra light is useful at times, but the glazing has yellowed and one panel has a crack in it. Double doors means I can get larger toys equipment in & out without struggling.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with anything smaller than an 8x6. Big enough to store a bike or two in, and still space for lawnmowers & stuff.
