Hello , just looking at picking brains,
cut a long story short. 5 years ago i defaulted on 6 separate accounts from various lenders when I went through a messy divorce, which ironically all got sold to PRA Group. All these accounts were settled in full when my house was sold, about month later, however I have noticed that original lender has reported the default, understandable but PRA group have also registered the default for ever account for £1 less than the original lenders value. So there is 12 defaults now showing on my credit report, is this correct? I know all these will fall off my report in another 12 months time but it’s just principle

Paying the debt does not remove the default.
Having two entries for the same debt is fine, as long as the entry from the original creditor shows the same date of default as the new entry, and a zero balance.
The entry from the new owner should show the same default date, and the outstanding balance, which should again be zero if you have settled the debts.
Is it worth a complaint?
