Although the item they claim was "free", it didn't work and as it was part of the deal surely they have some obligation to provide a working service?
You MIGHT be able to argue the difference in ticket price from what you paid and what others were offering the tickets for without the "Gift" but sure as hell not the full price.
Ultimately you need to check the T&Cs that you agreed to be bound by from the seller. Where is the seller based and which legal jurisdiction are they covered by? Many companies will say that "free gifts" are subject to availability etc and dont warrant the gift only the main purchase.
