Microsoft has announced two ways to get Windows 10 Extended Security Updates after Oct 2025 for free, so very MSE!

1) Redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points which you can accumulate by using Bing, XBox etc.

2) Use a forthcoming feature of Windows 10 Backup to sync your settings to the cloud, making transition to Windows 11 easier in the future.

Eagle eyed MSEers will realise both of these options require a Microsoft login, so all your secrets will be known to 'the man'.

MAY take advantage of the back up route as I already have a MS log in - However, I keep all my personal info (ie photos ,spreadsheets, correspondence etc) on a separate drive in the PC -  Does anybody know if will I need to back up all of that to the Cloud if I use the service?
