Anglian Windows - Superior Product?

I just spent over an hour with a rep - a few doors down is getting their house re-done so when someone knocked offering a measure up and quote, I was happy to see how the price would compare.
But the guy wanted to go to town on every aspect of what made Anglian Windows superior.
My only comparison is Dunraven who quoted us back in November.
The sales guy was showing how only Anglian make all of their own product, that they had detailed efficiency ratings, and through the samples in his car how their product had internal seals (rather than external ones that would deteriorate quickly) stronger hinges, a mechanism that properly pulls the window against the seal.....how the whole unit weight more etc etc etc.
The sample did appear to stand up to his claims, but of course I don't know if the competitor example he had is a true representation of other brands.
True salesman. For example, I want decent double glazing to reduce the noise from the road in front of our house - ours is as old as the house, maybe 25 years and pretty sure the gas has gone from them and the seals / hinges are shot. Anyhow, he measured the volume inside and said we could take 31dB off for their windows. But of course, the 31dB is compared to no window.....so actually he'd have needed to measure the noise by an open window for that statement to have any validity....
The total price for the house was 32% more than Dunraven - perhaps it'd have been even more if truly like for like, but the Anglian Windows guy suggested different layouts to keep the price down.
I know you pay more for quality, but the question is if they are better quality?

I would go for a local company not the overpriced big boys.1 -
£17,400 for Anglian vs £13,200 for Dunraven
I'm not ready to splash the cash on either at the moment, but did wonder about the truth of product quality.0 -
Check out the quality of the frame, then guarantee period, check the handles/hinges and if approved by some organisation regarding the security aspect.
Also, check out the negative reviews of any company you are comparing, as the negative reviews give a good insight how the window supplier responds/resolves and if there is a pattern to any negative reviews.1 -
This is not a recommendation as I would imagine their product has changed a lot since our windows were put in, but we have three Anglian windows and they are much better quality than our other windows which were installed by a local firm.0

The last lot of double glazing we had installed several years ago we paid abut 200 extra for the insurance-backed gurantee. Be warned, not every company offers that choice, so ask.
I also made sure the company belonged to FENSA and one other well known organisation but the name escapes me.0 -

The main difference is they've changed the quantity of recycled whatever it is inside the frames....1 -
