Hi Guys,
Not a complete newbie as I have used the advice from this forum to defend a previous parking ticket which was taken to court but dropped ahead of the court date.
Need some advice
Situation
- Went to take some pictures of my car in a completely empty car park.
- As the car park was empty I parked in the middle not in a bay and left the car running whilst I took some pictures.
- Bare in mind I have used this same spot for pictures of my cars for years with no issue and its always empty.
- A security patrol car came up and asked what I was doing.. told him and he could see clearly.. he said that's fine and left the scene.
- A week later I have a fine from Parking Direct Ltd with a fine for not parking within the bay.
- I have appealed and told them clearly I was beside my vehicle the whole time and can be seen in the pictures but as usual they rejected with a auto response.
So whats next? Ideally I just want them to take me straight to court/legal so I dont have to put up with the constant letters etc and can just defend.
Whats the advice? do I pay? Do I write back and ask them to cease communication and proceed to court? etc.
Thanks
B

They definitely didn't issue a fine ( you should be well aware of that aspect given your previous cases )
They issued an invoice for the alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property
Fight them in court if it ever gets that far

Why would you even think about paying1

Previous comments have covered it, not a fine, don't pay, and as you know await the boring letters from debt collectors and then a court claim if it gets that far....
Sadly appealing to anyone's better nature is unlikely to have any impact as they are bloodsucking leaches, so - wouldn't bother. Might be interesting to see what evidence they have - i.e. what pics they have of your car online or on the PCN and what they are stating you've actually done wrong to warrant the nonsense invoice.
If I were to write to them I would try and find parking vs waiting vs whatever you would classify you were doing - car business? - I mean if it's not on the sign then it's not a breach of their T&Cs...write them a rude letter if it helps!1
