Buying in Warwickshire advice

Hey,

To anyone living in or familiar with Warwickshire,

I’m looking for advice on the best (budget friendly) and worst places to live in the area.  Particularly interested in Warwick or Stratford Upon Avon but would like to know about locations just outside.

What we’re after:

  • Peaceful and quiet surroundings

  • Low crime/chavness (obviously)

  • No need for nightlife, restaurants, or transport links

It’s for my parents, so they’re not looking for anything busy or urban.

Budget: Up to £530k for a 3/4 bed detached house (lower would be nice)
Bonus: Hoping to avoid a new build with cardboard walls (difficult i know)

If you know any villages or areas that fit—or ones we should avoid—I’d really appreciate your help!

Thanks!

My family is from that general area. I'd avoid going north of Warwick/Stratford as it get busy and congested up towards Coventry and Birmingham commute..I would have said that around Southam might fit the bill but that flippin HS2 is going through there!
Personally villages south of Stratford might be suitable such as Ettington, Kineton and all the little villages in between. In fact you could choose any of the villages down to Edge Hill or the Oxfordshire border

Both Warwick and Stratford are tourist traps

The trouble with the villages is that once you can't drive you are snookered.

Personally I would avoid Leamington,   Wellesbourne and Henley In Arden OK.

Watch the river Avon - it floods
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

The only place I know in Warwickshire is around Gaydon/Kineton. Gaydon is a nice little village with some shops and eateries, Kineton is an army base although not noisy. Not far from the motor museum. You might be lucky to find anywhere under £600k though.
