Does anyone use the new version, at url https://www.thunderbird.net/en-GB/desktop/ ?
I currently use Thunderbird Nebula version, which is excellent, though a little slow transferring emails to folders.
Wondered whether the new software is an improvement.

The link points to Thunderbird Nebula version 139.0.2. I use Thunderbird mainly because I like filing my Gmail in folders :-) I have not noticed any slowness saving or moving email around with this or the previous version0

Thanks for replying.
I saw the link in Computer Active magazine, and they were recommending this, I thought it must be a new programme.
My version is Nebula 128.11.1esr (64-bit), which is currently up to date. Not sure why it seems a little slow when transferring emails to folders.. I don't keep lots of emails, just several necessary ones.0 -
I've been using Thunderbird for 15+ years (i think).I have never figured out the search, but it's a cracking free bit of software. And give me this any day rather than the 'one-file' Outlook - which is a nightmare to backup as it grows to 10s of gigabytes...0

My upload speed should be OK, Have just done a speed test, and results are download speed 68, upload 18 mbps. Message states - Your Internet connection is very fast.Your Internet connection should be able to handle multiple devices streaming HD videos, video conferencing and gaming at the same time.
Not sure how to use local folders, using PC Windows 11, Chrome.
Today the software has been extremely slow, and have resorted to using GMail server.

Been using T/Bird on PC for ~ 19 years - I keep all my necessary emails from my Yahoo, Hotmail and local ISP addresses (minimal use) in folders. Every now and then I go through deleting out of date stuff, then use Mozilla back up . Latest back up is comfortably less than 1GB.
Never had an issue with moving or deleting emails with T/Bird. Almost instantaneous.
I keep a Gmail account separate on my mobile phone for certain correspondence.1 -
I have also been using T/Bird for ages, and access GMail and Hotmail emails, keeping very few folders.
I keep few emails, either printing anything important, or deleting as necessary. Also, empty all spam as soon as it appears.
Yesterday, Thunderbird was so slow, could hardly use it, but today it has speeded up a little, thank goodness.
I will see how it goes, hopefully the problem has resolved itself.0
