Hi all I just ordered a 43inch Sky Glass and wall mount. As below.

I already have a tv wall mounted using an unknown wall mount left by previous owner. However, my previous wall mount from amazon below worked for my tv. I dont have this wall mount from amazon anymore though

When Sky made the order they recommended I purchased their own specific Sky Glass Wall Mount as they said the Sky Glass rv may not fit on my current wall mount. So wondering if anyone knows

A).Will my current wall mount be suitable for the Sky Glass 43inch tv?

B ) If not will I have to remove the wall mount current in the wall as well as the part that attaches to the TV? Or just remove the part that attaches to the tv and not the part on the wall?

I asked if they can wall mount it but they said they do not do this.

Sky Glass TVs use a 300 x 200 mount which is very unusual. Most TV mounts won't list it as compatible because it's an oddity but in practice many universal mounts will work with it. Its more likely that you can move the arms to make it fit the TV using the whole of the current mount than it is you can attach the TV end of the Sky one to the wall plate of the old one.

You probably will be fine with the old mount

Thanks. So to just remove the arms ie the part attached to the actual tv which also has claws and bolts attaching it to the long flat square thing and attach that to the back of the sky tv and then attach to the ong square part that the claws are attach too? no need to take anything from the actual wall? Thanks

With most universal systems you should be able to remove the TV from the mount with those two arms still attached to the TV. How you do it exactly varies by model, for example with mine (low profile not on an arm) there are strings at the bottom that release the lower catches and you can then lift the TV off however you can also just slide it off the end, assuming you've got the space etc.

You would then take off the arms from the TV and attach them to the back of the new TV and then rehang it on the beam, normally you hook the top on as per where you are pointing and then the bottom will self engage but some do have screws or similar to tighten the grip

Don't forget that the Sky Glass TV also includes a pretty hefty integrated sound bar, check the weight limitation of your wall mount.

Thanks. Im unsure the weight limits of the wall mount as it was installed by previous owner and there's no brand marking etc on it?

Personally although not MSE I'd install the Sky mount - if you're not sure of the fit or weight rating of your existing mount I'd err on the side of caution - you don't want the whole thing collapsing and falling to the floor...

Yes the reason we are getting sky glass tv is because since we moved in ever couple of days the network losses connection on the sky box looses connection to the sky hub and asked ages to reset it. We have done everything moved the hub closer even though it's only 12 feet away, changed hubs changed boxes had 3 different engineers out, added a booster etc etc and after a year we are sick of the issue. So we were told that if we get sky glass we won't have that issue anymore as it's not going to need to be connected via the WiFi network to the box anymore. Does that sound right?

Also have been told we could just get a ethernet cable and connect the sky box to the sky hub and then the sky box wouldn't keep disconnecting from the sky network connection? Do you think we should just do this?

Does that mean we need to get it drilled into the wall and remove the old one from the wall?

Just that there's electric cables nor far from the current wall mount and Im a bit worried they might get damaged by new holes going in and also I would have to find someone to come out and do the job too.
