TSB 20 card payments question

For the TSB switch offer where you get £15 cashback each month as long as you make 20 debit card payments - if I used my card to tap on a TfL bus twice (return journey an hour later) I know TfL only take the one amount out, but would this be classed as 2 payments, given I tapped my card twice?
The same goes for tube journeys, if I tapped in twice, would that also be classed as 2 payments?

If it shows as one transaction then that's how it will be treated.

My experience was that TFL seemed to process all bus/tube taps on one day as one financial transaction, early hours of the following day, to allow for the capped faresGroceries: Personal Spend: 0 NST NSD Goals for 2025:Self: Health: Wealth :0

What matters is the number of individual debit card transactions that appear on your bank statement. If TFL consolidate multiple tap on/off into a single daily charge, then it will only count as one transaction for the TSB criteria.
In the past when I've been trying to take advantage of this type of offer, I've found the easiest way for me was to make several manual transactions to pay off a credit card statement (eg. 20 x £1). My backup is to just go to the supermarket when it's quiet and buy multiple low value items through the self serve checkout (eg. carrots, bananas, etc).0 -
Not sure about TFL, but other bus companies usually merge all journeys into a single transaction, this is how they cap the daily amount if applicable.
I'm currently doing outward/return journeys on two different cards to get me two different switch bonuses0 -
I used Paypal, 20 transactions to a friend repaid with 20 transactions to get their bonus.

TfL wait until the early hours of the following day, as they don't know what to charge you until you've completed a day's journeys. Two (or more) bus taps within 62 minutes will only charge you one bus fare anyway.
If you're worried about not making enough transactions to meet your switch conditions, open a direct saver account with NS&I and make some £1 deposits with them
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
I usually make 20x £10 card payments to a savings account and then set a transfer straight back for the whole sum. The best one for this is Family Building Society but I've also used Skipton in the past.0

Open a National Savings Direct Saver account (instant access savings account, you can open online with a £1 deposit). You can then do 20 X £1 deposits online into the account using your debit card over one sitting (or more than one sitting if you prefer). You can withdraw the money to your nominated current account after the clearance period (7 days). While the money is sitting in the Direct Saver account, it is earning interest. By doing it this way, you don't need to spend any money plus gain a bit of interest on top.1

If you make one payment with debit card and another payment with mobile phone contactless I think that will be classed as two transactions?0
